SEO is Not Dead. It’s More Alive!

Over the past few years, there were more than a couple of “SEO is dead” discussions in the online world. In fact, SEO is Not Deadif you do a quick Google search on “SEO is dead”, you will be able to find hundreds of blog posts and news articles that have prematurely declared that SEO is actually dead. Ironically, most of these articles seem to be link bait type ones, stuffed with keyword rich content and anchor text links to the sites of the authors.

Publishing an article stating that SEO is dead, is actually a nice trick that could lead to a lot of attention as the entire SEO Company would be commenting and discussing about it. Regardless of whether someone agrees with it or not, it will always get the visits and backlinks. However, apart from the attention grabbing headlines, these articles often seem to talk about the combined effect of Google’s Penguin, Panda, EMD (Exact Match Domain) updates and social media, as if they were bad and as the causes of the “death of SEO”; but in reality, these changes are the things that are moving the SEO Company in Ahmedabad from the spammy grave it once was, into an industry where professional search engine optimizers who commit to the best practices recommended by Google to shine, while others fail.

As I see it, Penguin, Panda and EMD updates are the best things that ever happened to the SEO. Before them, SEO was just about getting a domain name that matches the exact search term used by your target audience, filling up your blog with spammy articles with exact match anchor text and getting as many backlinks as possible. But Google changed the rules of the game. Now, the only way to be rest assured of getting a good ranking on search results page is strategically using good and original content to promote the website. There are no shortcuts. Finally, the SEOs are starting to recognize the importance of good content and SEO.

Is SEO really dead?
